I am Living Positive with HIV/AIDS
Written by Ntwale Joseph Siulanda

ImageThe Story Of Mr. Tresford Nkumba: Based On His Real Life

It’s rare that people come out in the open and declare that they are HIV positive. It’s a bold step that few people brace themselves to undertake. I recently had an opportunity to meet such a person and this is the first time that he has declared himself as HIV positive through the media and BH Magazine gladly salutes him in choosing us as a channel for his story. I found him to be very articulate and intelligent and we talked about so many things through which I was amazed at just how he has accepted his condition and made the best out of it.

The Mandiva Fever
Written by Ntwale Siulanda
ImageMaking a music video requires a lot of hard work, commitment and seriousness in order for the shooting sequences to be a success. It’s a hectic undertaking but at the end of it all, the rewards are greatly felt. Mandiva is behind the production of music videos by Funti K “Am 4 Real” and most recently Red Linso and Winston “Tulo”. Under the label MT Entertainment owned by himself and Thomas Banda “Tommy B”, they have taken Southern Africa by storm with their talents and skills. Mandiva and Tommy B have an album ready for the market entitled “Face To Face” which is a Gospel Hip Hop album that is hyper and funky. The album has blazing beats which most Hip Hop Heads would listen to.

Kilsta and Kilimanjaro
Kilsta has been in the industry for a long time. He was once in a group called Tru 4 Real which later became Mob Justice and once shared a stage with “Aba Shanti” and “Stitch” of South Africa. Mob Justice comprised of famous producer TK, Mainza, Saga, Shamack and Abigail (Abi). He started out as a Hip Hop artist but later switched to Ragga Muffin. His advice to artists in brief is that they should never give up. “It could take longer than expected but just never give up. Have a positive mind and with time you will reap great rewards”.

The ThirdA few months ago, a young group of youngsters from Chipata Eastern Province calling themselves “The Third”, came unto the music scene with a song called “Nifunsako-Gelo Pa Zed” which was recorded in 2005 in Chipata. Most people said that the guys were just wasting their time and should concentrate on other ventures and not music.

Funti K
Written by Ntwale Siulanda
ImageFunti K has been around for a long time and has been in the  background of most productions of the current crop of Zambian music that we get to hear these days. He has been patient enough not to give up his quest to release an album and I guess that’s why he had to name his album “Niyembekeza” meaning “I am Waiting”. He has waited for a long time and now he has managed to achieve one of his dreams. His music is rich in sound quality, lyrics and vocals. It has maturity embedded in every fabric of the songs. It features K’Millian, Hamoba ,Exile  and so on. It is produced by TK of RomaSide who I guess needs no introduction in the Zambian music community. The album  is a must buy and I give it a 100% mark .
