We are loving CQ's new video "Waziba" from his recent album. But just because we do does not mean you should not tell us what you think about it. Take a look and let the comments roll.
CQ and I have been bumping into each other a lot at La Mimosa (Arcades Shopping Centre, Lusaka). An interview with him will be posted soon.
"Waziba" was directed was directed by Vatice of Inzy Photography.
As the wise saying goes………’Better Late Than Never’. Well, though these guys have released their album later that expected I believe its worth the wait. I sampled through the album and was very impressed at the maturity in the songs. I kept rewinding the album as they have only released it on cassette before launching the compact disc version which will have bonus songs. I had a chat with Killian Siyandi A.K.A Kilsta who stated that the response has been great from the people who have heard and bought the album. He said that they say that the album is different from the albums already on the market. The album has a favorite song for everyone because it caters for a varied audience – the young and the old. The album has Reggae, R&B, Rap and Kalindula flavors.
I recently had an Interview with David Punabantu who is the author of a new Book entitled the Zambia 2006 Almanac. The Zambia 2006 Almanac series reveals unwritten insights into the evolution of Zambia’s socio-economic and political “DNA”, that is far different from the tainted political history so often taught to Zambians as a result of the “One Party State” attempting to hide its failures as successes and defining them as Zambia’s so called glory days. Without coming to terms with a correct and accurate account of Zambia’s past, then the present policies to map out the future of Zambia, based on incorrect notions compromises Zambia’s future developmental efforts. It is with this view that the 2006 Almanac series exposes insights into the real socio-economic and political history of Zambia, which is so relevant to understanding Zambia today and the Zambian Psyche and the approach to democratic and good governance issues. The Volume One of the Zambia 2006 Almanac which is now out for sale covers Zambia between January 1964 - December 1964. It is a day to day account of the socio-economic and political events that captured the period, littered with numerous photographs. Events of major importance are captured in the “Day Details” in which extra coverage is given. This volume has 270 pages and over 50 photographs ranging from the first Miss Zambia, to the first woman Political Prisoner released, Zambia’s first Independence Day celebrations and the Alice Lenshina saga, and many more other events.
...wondering and pondering about this reality called life Either afraid of retribution or simply scared of the repercussion Internally repressed but yet wallowing in it enormously blessed Blinded to the fact-yes eyes shut tight by worldly fallacies Daily trying to make true sense of these obvious abnomalities
The evening began with a wonderful Christmas dinner for all the guests after which H.E. Anderson Chibwa, High Commissioner for Zambia to the U.K gave an opening speech.
The pageant then kicked off with the contestants dancing to a traditional Bemba song.
