Danny
Written by Black Diamond

Full Name: Daniel Siulapwa

Danny, born, raised and educated in Lusaka, Zambia, has always been a music man. Instead of taking up his profession as per his studies (he trained to be a technician in electrical and electronic engineering), he decided to take up his God-given talent, in music. Currently he is regarded as one of Zambia's prominent music pioneers after playing a big part in helping revive the Zambian music industry, which had in the view of many, completely collapsed.

Work Done
Danny's debut album titled "Mvelani" was an instant hit in Zambia, selling over 15,000 units. This was considered a huge success because by then the Zambian market for music had not yet expanded to where it currently stands. Songs like "Masike Onse", "Ngoma Ikalila", and Big Up Don't Worry" featured prominently on the Zambian music charts.

He will be releasing his second album titled "Ama Lavin'gi" (meaning "love"). "My Jane", a song taken off this album, is already considered the fastest rising song on the Zambian charts having gone to number one in the first two weeks of market sampling.

Talent Diversity
Apart from singing, Danny is a well-known songwriter. He has written songs for top Zambian artists such as J.K, Ba Crazy, Lindi and M.C. Wabwino among others.

He is also a music producer with the adopted name "Goldfinger" because anything he touches in music turns to gold. He did the entire production work for his sophomore project.

Live Performance
Danny has performed inside and beyond the borders of Zambia.

These include a performance at the memorable FAO Tele-Food Concert to raise money to fight hunger and assist in poverty reduction. The likes of Miriam Makeba and Yousson N'Dour have performed at such concerts for the same objective.

Danny has also performed alongside a number of renowned African artistes such as Oliver Mutukudzi, Mandoza and Werrason.
