Marsha Releases ‘Faith’ Music Video

Marsha Moyo

Singer songwriter Marsha Moyo who a month ago released her sophomore album titled The Fine Print, has now released the album’s first music video Faith, Is A Wonderful Thing.

Shot in Johannesburg, the video depicts Marsha and the internationally acclaimed The SOWETO Gospel Choir who also feature on the song, in joyous and vibrant celebration of the power of faith. The spirited pop song, written, composed and produced by Marsha, is about the self-belief and determination needed to achieve goals and dreams despite challenges one may encounter, while the video suggests Marsha thinking about recording, to actually recording and to finally celebrating the vision actualized.

The video is Marsha’s fourth, the first being Dark Child, followed by Heaven’s Watching and later Women Celebrated that she scripted, directed and produced and earned her a Kora All Africa Music Awards nomination for Best African Video 2004. The new video will more than likely follow the trails of her other videos that already receive airplay on music channels MTV, Channel O and France’s Trace-TV, while the song is a quick emerging favourite from the new album.

CRISIS needs to use all of the usual Zambian negativity thrown at him to become even stronger as an artist. There has always been a Zambian bias against hip hop so CRISIS shouldn\'t waste a second of his time listening to the critics. Country and western music is American and is widely accepted in Zambia as are jazz, blues, rhythm and blues and soul music. Zambians have been listening to these genres for decades and many of our parents during their youth walked talked and dressed like their American musical idols of the 50\'s, 60\'s and 70\'s. Zambian radio has had all kinds of American music played from its station as well as British music. All of a sudden rap music is too \"American\" for Zambian tastes. If CRISIS were a reggae singer there wouldn\'t be a whisper about his music not being Zambian even though that music form is Jamaican. In the same way a Zambian reggae artist adopts a Jamaican accent and is accepted, a Zambian rap artist should be able to adopt an American accent to get his message across. To the homie CRISIS-I say keep on being you, tell your story even if your own don\'t support you.Oh and make a ton of money to shut up the haters
