Miss Zambia UK 2006

 
After this came a Zambian Dance Troupe of teens from The Chongololo Club. They were dressed in outfits with traditional African colours of Red, Black, Green and Orange.
A candle light vigil was also held in rememberance of women who have died of HIV/AIDS. This was then followed by a speech from the show's founder and Chief executive, Justinna Mutale. The speech was then followed by a performance from the Watoto Childrens Choir from Uganda. These are HIV/AIDS orphans who have musical talent and are doing a tour around Europe.
 
The beauty pageant contestants then followed as they wore Beautiful, Traditional and Cultural wear, showing off the fashion trends in Africa. The clothing did not just appear to be entirely Zambian but, seemed like it was clothing that came from accross Africa from Ethiopia, Zambia, Nigeria, South Africa, Malawi and Uganda to mention a few. This was a good display of African design and precision. The clothes worn here also seemed to cut across all cultures, despite their African roots. These are clothes that can be worn on many occassions and can easily be adopted by the Western Market.
 
TY2 then followed with a performance as he performed 3 songs off his latest album. The crowd loved the performance as they cheered and clapped. Right after TY2's performance came the contestants once again as they wore Beach/Swimwear in Phase 2 of the pageant.
 
As the girls prepared for phase 3 of the show, Zambian King of Hip-Hop, C.R.I.$.I.$. then came on with what was the most explosive performance of the night. Before he stepped on stage, he got the crowd to learn the chorus to his song before he even appeared on stage. The music then came on with a eerie Gothic sound. It was a song called "King Author (The King of Rap)." The song ended with a sudden explosion and C.R.I.$.I.$. was then joined by little known singer, Sangwani and some dancers as they performed "If You Let Me", a song from the rappers upcoming album. C.R.I.$.I.$. was then joined by Guitarist, Wes Sargent to perform his classic song, "One Day." The crowd waved their hands in the air, took pictures and sang along to the chorus. Phase 3 of the pageant was a display of Evening Wear. This was then that the girls were also interviewed. The girls answered general questions about their country Zambia, The World and they also told the crowd what they would do if and once crowned to be Miss Zambia U.K.

Kanda Bongo Man was supposed to perform then after. He was rumoured to be in the building but was 'No Show' on stage, a great dissapointment to those who partly wanted to see him perform.

Because of the Congolesse' absence, the stage was then graced by outgoing Miss Zambia U.K., Rosemary Chileshe. She gave a speech highlighting her achievements as she also gave some advice to the in-coming Miss Zambia U.K. Rosemary has been a great Zambian ambassador as she has worked with charities and sold Zambia to many nations in her travels.
Miss Chileshe holds a Bsc. Hons. Degree in Business Property Management.  She represented Zambia at Miss World in 2004. She is a spokes model for Sleek Cosmetics and was recently honoured with a GAB Award (Gathering of Africa’s Best) in recognition of her outstanding work with HIV/AIDS Orphans, becoming the second person after Nelson Mandela, to receive a GAB Award in the Southern African region. The moment everybody was waiting for finally came as the winner of Miss Zambia U.K. 2006 was finally announced. The 1st princess was 16 year old, Ann Cholwe Malambo. The 2nd princess was 25 year old Chiko Lusambo. The room was suddenly in silence as they waited to hear the last announcement. "Ladies and Gentlemen, the winner is....Flavia Mbazima!"
The crowd cheered as some of the contestants who obviously had high hopes shed tears as a result of this.
 
The new Miss Zambia U.K. is Flavia Mbazima who before her victory was known to many attendants as contestant number 14.

The 25 year old Miss. Mbazima is currently based in Middlesex, U.K. She attends the FTC Kaplan College in London Bridge. She is an accountancy student studying for ACCA. Her ambitions are to become an accountant and a proffessional model. Flavia has always thought of representing Zambia at an International Beauty Pageant. "I'm proud to be Zambian and jumped at this chance to be part of this great contest which in the past has done such a great job in representing and putting Zambia on the map. If I win the title, I would firstly be proud to have been among contestants with such high integrity and poise. I would use my title to help raise HIV/AIDS awareness and promote mother Zambia internationally. I would organise and be involoved seminars, fundraisers, community talks on HIV/AIDS. I would also represent Zambia at international pageants and charity events worldwide."
