Veteran international director Little X has selected the South Africa video crew working on the MTV Making the Video Challenge with Shell.
 After burning the midnight oil at Carfax, Newtown, Little X finally picked the ‘Green’ team headed by documentary and music video director Chloe Coetsee to create the music video for ‘Thula Uzoyiboma’ – a brilliant new collaboration between Bleksem and Dama do Bling, produced by DJ Cleo.
The decision was held off until the small hours of the morning after Little X, director of videos by Rihanna, Jay-Z and Sean Paul, sent the two frontrunners back to the drawing board for failing to interpret the song adequately!
The final team squaring up in the MTV Making the Video Challenge with Shell is Chloe Coetsee (Director), Sizie Modise (Producer), Mduduzi Ndlovu (Director of Photography) and Cleo Khaba (Production Assistant).
Coetsee, Modise, Ndlovu and Khaba have just 6 days to turn around their music video for ‘Thula Uzoyiboma’ before the official premiere party at Movida in Johannesburg on 6 September in the presence of DJ Cleo, Bleksem and Dama do Bling. The resulting video will go on to compete against music videos from parallel teams in Kenya, Nigeria and Ghana.
A limited number of tickets to the premiere party will be available at Movida, priced 100 Rand. Doors open at 20:30 CAT.
