International Runway Model Becomes New Face of All Star Kids
Written by All Star Kids

Rosemary Chileshe

The children of Zambia have another new friend to stand up for their rights. Rosemary Chileshe, an international runway supermodel and former Miss Zambia UK, has become a patron of All Star Kids a charity set up to support children in Africa.

All Star Kids believes that all children, wherever they live, have the right to be free from hunger, need, neglect and abuse.

Rosemary scooped the Miss Zambia UK title in 2003. Since then she has seen much success as a beauty queen and model, going on to represent Zambia at Miss World 2004. In 2006 she became the second person in southern Africa to be awarded a GAB Award (Gathering of Africa's Best) in recognition of her work to support those with HIV and AIDS charity work. The other award is held by Nelson Mandela. From this award, alongside her partner, she founded "The Roc Foundation”, aimed at raising HIV/AIDS Awareness and Alleviating Poverty Worldwide.

Explaining her decision to become a patron of All Star Kids, Rosemary says: "I am supporting All Star Kids because they cater for ALL children in need of the basic requirements in life. All Star Kids does not choose, nor does it disregard any child. With the guidance provided by the charity and the opportunities presented to the children at the early stages in their lives a clear message is fed through to them that there is always a green light, there is always a way through and that as they grow, the children will always have opportunities to better themselves."

Chris Clarke, Chairman of All Star Kids, says: "Rosemary that she has been one of the most successful UK-based African beauty queens in recent years, combining beauty, brains and compassion and we are certainly privileged to have her support. We look forward to seeing the difference we can make together to the lives of Zambian children."

" I do hope that other Zambians living in the UK will follow Rosemary's lead and join All Star Kids as we work to ensure that every child in Zambia grows up in a safe, productive and loving atmosphere where they can reach their full potential," continues Chris.

All Star Kids is being supported at the Miss Zambia UK / Official Zambian Independence Celebrations on Friday 24th October 2008. This will be a great opportunity to find out more about the charity’s work and get involved. For more information visit www.allstarkids.org.uk
